So its possible to use two soundcards at the same time? Ive got a SB X-fi elite but im thinking about getting an external soundcard too, for production.

Using two SB Live …
Using two SB Live 5.1 internal cards works fine. Tho you need to use the drivers from creative. The Windows drivers chipped with Windows tends to overdrive each channel even when all down to zero. Specially for the Capture/Record mixer.
