How to change the frequency of a radio transmitter?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under radio | 2 Comments »

My radio doesn’t receive a signal from my radio transmitter, because it transmits at 900 MHZ; which is too high for a radio to receive.
I know i can just buy one, but this one has 300 ft range, and I LIKE MODIFYING THINGS myself.

SO, PLEASE HELP ME. AND MAKE IT SIMPLE.

Websites with tutorials are appreciated.

What are you trying to do? Control an R/C car, boat or airplane? What is this transmitter? 900 MHz sounds like a public service two-way radio. However, these radios have more than a 300 ft range. A 300 ft range would sound like a R/C transmitter but there aren’t any that work at 900 MHz.

I will assume you are are trying to control an R/C thing-a-ma-jig. R/C receivers work at 27 MHz, 72 MHz, 75 MHz or 2.4 GHz. If your R/C transmitter works in the same band as your receiver, you can change crystals in both the receiver and/or transmitter, fairly easy.

If you like modifying radio gear, get an Amateur Radio (Ham) License. You are allowed to build, experiment with and modify all the radio gear you want! Hams also use their gear for R/C.

Whats the difference between radio edition and normal edition in music?

I want to buy a cd with my favorite song on it but it says its a radio edition and i don’t know if i should get it because i don’t know if there’s a difference between a radio edition or a normal version.
Is there a difference and if so what is it?

radio versions are edited for language and (less commonly) for length.

I was going to buy a 40 channel radio but I decided not to because I didn’t know if you could switch the frequency or if they are built into the system already.
I would like a radio under $50…
Any Ideas?

What makes a radio select and hold a specific frequency?

Posted by admin on February 22nd, 2010 and filed under radio | 2 Comments »

My cars antena broke (the kind that goes up when you turn the radio on). Replaced it but when I turn the radio on and the antena comes up I get service but I’m unable to select and hold a station. I get every station in range and all at once. Just curious why that is.

It is possible that there is a tuning capacitor at the back of your radio that needs to be adjusted to match the antenna to the radio input circuitry. If this match is not done, you may be picking up signals that are spurious. Check either your car’s manual or the instruction book that came with your radio to find out if there is a tuning control like this on your set.

Buggles – Video killed the radio star 1979

I heard you on the wireless back in 52
lying awake intent a tuning in on you
if I was young it didn’t stop you coming through

They took the credit for your second symphony
re-written by machine and new technology
and now I understand the problems you can see

Oh oh — I met your children
oh oh — what did you tell them
video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star
pictures came and broke your heart
we can’t rewind we’ve gone too far

And now we meet in an abandoned studio
we hear the playback and it seems so long ago
and you remember the jingle used to go

Oh oh — you were the first one
oh oh — you were the last one
video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star
in my mind and in my car
we can’t rewind we’ve gone too far

Video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star
in my mind and in my car
we can’t rewind we’ve gone too far

(Instrumental)

Video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star

In my mind and in my car
we can’t rewind we’ve gone too far
pictures came and broke your heart
look I’ll play my VCR

Oh radio star
Oh radio star

Video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star

Video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star
video killed the radio star

What is the radio fuse labelled in a 2004 chevy malibu?

Posted by admin on February 20th, 2010 and filed under radio | 1 Comment »

i have a 2004 malibu and my radio seems to be broken because it keeps saying check disc. the motor that ejects the disc keeps running and kills my battery. i have checked both fuse boxes but i don’t know what the radio fuse is labelled. any help is appreciated.

The radio fuse is marked "Radio" and is a 10 amp fuse located in the Body Control Module which is on the passenger side front of the center console, where the passengers left foot would rest. The trim panel pulls off, and the BCM is behind it.

How do radios pick up radio signals for different stations?

Best answer given. Also, you will get a better chance of getting best answer if you give a link where it shows a picture of a nice radio picture.

radios pick up all frequencies at once. It is the tuner that restricts what frequency is allowed to pass through.

When Radio Stations give out tickets for a concert, Are they usually good seats?

Posted by admin on February 16th, 2010 and filed under radio | 3 Comments »

I won tickets for my sister to go see Britney Spears this March by calling in a radio station and naming the 5 songs they played. She is planning to buy extra tickets because she doesnt know if the ones I won from the radio station are good seats. Does anyone know? Anyone with expirience?

I had a friend who won tix twice and took me (Dave Matthews Band and 311), we had really good seats at both shows.
